"Some patients need to be referred to hospitals or surgeons in Tulsa because the surgery needed is outside our area of expertise" said Dr. Hrdlicka. However, for many patients, Claremore Surgeons, inc. is a welcome alternative. "For some patients, a long drive can be overwhelming. Being able to receive care close to home is a valuable resource."
The three physicians affiliated with Claremore Surgeons also serve patients through the Vascular and Vein Laser Center. The center offers treatment for the removal of leg veins. treatment for spider veins and varicose veins, and the removal of unwanted hair. The doctors utilize the most advanced laser technology to treat patients, minimizing recovery time.
Another area of expertise offered by the surgeons is hernia repair. According to Dr. Hrdlicka, men and women of all ages can have hernias. Commonly called a "rupture", a hernia is a weakness or tear in the wall of your abdomen.
There are two types of hernias. Acquired hernias are caused by wear and tear over the years. Congenital hernias result from a weakness in your abdominal wall that is present at birth. Both types of hernias may get worse or enlarge with time or physical stress. If you suspect that you have a hernia, the doctors at the Hernia Center will evaluate your condition and decide whether your condition warrants surgery right away or in the near future. After surgery, most patients are able to return to normal activities within a few days.
